A problem common to all types of conventional batteries is the sulphation, ie the formation of sulphate crystal.
But what exactly is meant by sulfation ?
The sulfation is the result of a chemical reaction for which the constant drain current * and the continuous air exposure of the plates make that the low level of electrolyte favors the crystallization of the active lead on the battery plates , up to damaging them completely. At this point , the battery is no longer able to absorb the charge and recover its full capacity .
The solution is called ANTI – sulphation
In response to the problem, the search LP has in fact studied a special chemical formula able to counteract the occurrence of the phenomenon and to minimize the spontaneous formation of sulphate crystal, that by attacking the battery plates makes them completely inactive, damaging them in irreversibly.
All batteries that make up the range LP are subjected to this special treatment, and we put them to the test by comparing them with other batteries without the same anti-sulfation.
By operating the comparison, we have reproduced in both cases the same conditions of downloading constant, by connecting the batteries to a 10W bulb.
Once exhausted fully charging the battery LP with anti-sulfation process had no difficulty in recharging: a distance of one week has recovered more than 90% of the charge.
The battery-free anti-sulfation on the other hand, was made totally unusable precisely because of the sulphation process that has attacked the plates.
WHAT IS CURRENT DRAIN?
It closes or not the switch of the capacitor, the battery still remains in a condition of downloading due to individual electrical elements present in the battery, which draw current from the same.
This steady but continuous flow of discharge (self-discharge) is said drain current.
BASIC RULES FOR CHARGING A BATTERY
Many problems related to the malfunctioning of the battery are caused by improper charging. In order to avoid this possibility, you need to follow some basic rules that apply to each type of battery.
1. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BATTERY CHARGERS ARE NOW DATED AND THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR BATTERY
It is recommended to use only charging battery recommended and conform to the specifications of the individual product to be recharged: not only the various battery technologies have in fact very different specifications, but also the single article of a same product line behaves in a different way on the basis of voltage, density, and volume of the electrolyte, starting capacity and the charging current.
In case of failure to comply with these rules, the battery may be irreparably damaged and cause gas leaks oxyhydrogen which is highly explosive and harmful to health. It is therefore advisable to follow the instructions carefully for proper battery charge.

2. ARE YOU SURE THAT THE BATTERY IS CONNECTED PROPERLY?
RED = positive (+) or BLUE BLACK = negative (-)
It is very important to stick to the current type and recharge times dictated by the specifications of the battery type. Normally, the charge current generated by the charging device shall not exceed 10% of the capacity of the battery being charged.
Eg: battery 6Ah> 0.6 Amps of charge current battery 12Ah> 1.2 amps of charge current
UNLESS AN EMERGENCY, DO NOT SEEK THE PROCEDURE CHARGE FAST
It is recommended to monitor the battery during the charge cycle
3. WHEN TO END THE PROCESS OF CHARGE?
Each requires its own battery charging time, reported within the instructions in each package. The timing indicated enables the device to regain fully and safely, its ability breakaway.
After this time, the process of charging the battery can actually be said to be finished if the lamp discharge is zero, or if the charging current is kept constant for 45 consecutive minutes.
To protect the final customer, all the batteries of the range LP are equipped with a special security technology capable of inhibiting the absorption of the charging current of the battery.
In the case where, as a result of an incorrect charging process, the charging current exceeds the proportion of 10% with respect to the battery capacity (approximately 15 volts), or where it registers a current flow inadequate to the product, the battery automatically He does not receive the charge.
WARNING: it is good to know that the charge indicator of the battery charger with no automatic voltmeter or ammeter immediately report the battery as charged.
